It is truly impressive to witness Alexa Gagnon's exceptional footwork and groundstrokes at such a young age of 6. Her skills on the tennis court are a testament to her incredible athleticism and natural talent. It is clear that she is not only dedicated but also a quick learner, effortlessly absorbing everything she is taught. Given her promising abilities, I firmly believe that Alexa has the potential to become one of the finest young tennis players in the entire state of Texas in the coming years.
Our intermediate tennis program for kids 10-15 years of age is on Tues & Fri from 6-7pm. This is a fun class where kids practice their technique, compete and have fun! It's important to practice doing the swings correctly but it takes time for kids to learn how to play correctly so everybody has to be patient. We do shadow swinging to help reinforce all the strokes using the correct swings and grips then we move to live ball play where they practice while rallying back and forth. Below is a video where we are instructing our kids in correct technique while having fun! These players are preparing for competition in tournament play and junior high tennis.
To become a champion tennis player you must become Antifragile! What this means is nothing bothers you in practice or matches. Your up 6-0, 5-0, 40-love and you lose! Great, how did you manage to do that and how can you prevent it from happening again? Well... If you can stay calm (antifragile) then you can evaluate what went wrong correct your mistakes before your next match! The top tennis professionals in the world do this everyday in practice and so can you now that you know the secret. It's not easy but good things rarely come easy. Train hard, be antifragile and become a champion!
